The SMEunited Transport Forum is a co-operation platform bringing together SMEs from manufacturing and repair of road vehicles as well as road transport. Given the impact of transport on all economic activities, the Forum also includes the voices of other sectors such as retail, construction and tourism.
The Forum aims to develop joint positions on all transport-related issues such as sustainable transport, organisation of the supply chain, road safety, infrastructure efficiency etc.
European citizens should not have to wait 10 more years for a real right to repair: SMEunited, our member FIGIEFA and four other sectorial business associations issued a Joint call for a clear, unequivocal and immediately applicable EU Repair Clause to create an accessible and affordable right to repair.
“As we share a similar goal representing SMEs, sectoral and national member organisations work closely together to benefit from joint activities. It is clear our members have a keen interest to ensure rules put in place are fit for small companies. We will reinforce cooperation between sectoral and national members to highlight common priorities”, concluded Policy Vice-President Philip van Nieuwenhuizen after the SMEunited Sector Committee meeting.
“SMEs depend on inner city mobility and cities depend on SMEs. That is why we are happy to contribute with SMEunited to this project. Shops, restaurants and bars depend on customers passing by to attract attention, service providers like hairdressers, doctors, etc. depend on good accessibility, especially for less mobile persons. Crafts(wo)men, such as plumbers or painters, must be able to reach their customers with their tools and material. Developing green mobility for cities requires authorities to engage with those small companies to find the most appropriate measures to make it reality” stated Secretary General Willems at the fist Webinar of the GLEAM North Sea Region project highlighting the importance of SMEs for inner Cities logistics and the involvement of Stakeholder associations in policy implementation.
We support the goals to ensure full protection of vehicle manufacturers’ design rights over their products on one side and avoid monopolies on visible spare parts on the other side through a repair clause: SMEunited, its member FIGIEFA and four other sectorial business associations issued a joint statement.
